Marine Scientific Services is a commercial entity providing at-sea and shore-based services through its 11-meter research vessel and quayside offices, respectively. HFIG is pleased to announce the kick-off of our industry-led initiative to scientifically investigate the causes of lost fishing gear in our regional shellfishing waters. In addition to finding the causes, we also endeavor to highlight the costs both to our industry as well as to the environment. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we hope to take measures to enumerate and reduce the impacts of lost fishing gear.
